My Bucket List

The following are some of the swim, bike, and/or run events I'd like to do. I'm always looking for more fun events, so I'll be updating this page frequently!

Bike

  • Tour de Sewer - Doesn't the name alone make you want to check this ride out? Every year I just happen to be on the bike trail on the day of the ride and every year I tell myself I really need to sign up for the next year's ride.
  • Hincapie Gran Fondo - I've never been to South Carolina, but I've heard its gorgeous. Plus, the climbing looks challenging but still doable.
  • Vienna to Prague Cycling - I'd love to see Europe on a bicycle, and this trip in particular looks amazing! Now that my other half finally has a road bike, I'm thinking this dream trip might actually become a reality. Honestly, I'd settle for any of the cycling tours REI offers! :)
  • Cool Breeze Century - I told myself no more centuries in 2015, so this is on the docket for 2016!
  • Gran Fondo Whistler - A gorgeous ride AND no cars to contend with?! Sign me up! It's a pretty much uphill ride, so I suppose I should go find some hills to train on if I'm serious about this ride. The Gran Fondo Banff also looks enticing, and not completely uphill.
  • The Jensie Gran Fondo - One of the routes is called "The Shut Up Legs." Oh, and Jens Voight will be there. Need I say more? ;) I like that most of the climbing is in the beginning of the ride when your legs are still fresh.

Run

  • Big Sur International Marathon - This looks like a gorgeous run, and everyone knows pretty scenery makes the miles fly by!
  • Into the Wild OC Trail Runs - A few years ago, I did a trail run in Alaska and had a great time. Honestly, I had no idea there were so many great trails to run on in my own backyard! I'm hoping to do one of the shorter runs in 2016.

Triathlon

  • Bayshore Triathlon - This one is pretty much in my backyard, and once again every year I happen to be on the bike trail on the day of the triathlon and kick myself for not registering.
  • Big Bear Triathlon - Ironically, I get altitude sickness, but I figure a sprint or olympic distance triathlon won't kill me!
  • OC Triathlon - No ocean swim - woo hoo!
  • Vineman 70.3 - I have my eyes set on this half ironman in 2016. I figure I'll be able to easily convince all my wine-loving family and friends to come!
  • Boulder 70.3 - Yes, I know I get altitude sick. This is more of a long-term goal when I am able to spend a good amount of time training at altitude.
